from Skydive Auckland

If I could only visit one city in New Zealand it would be … I’m lucky that I live in Auckland which has everything. But if I had to visit another city it would be Wellington as I love the cafe culture, cocktail bars and craft beers.

Three things I love about the North Island are … 1. The amazing beaches. 2. The mountains for snowboarding. 3. And the warm weather.

Describe the typical New Zealander in three words … Chilled. Passionate. Welcoming.

My favourite spot to relax is … This is such a hard one as there are so many great places around Auckland. Lake Wainamu (next to Bethells Beach) I often go there on my days off as I love walking and swimming.

**NZ’s best hot chocolate can be found at … **The Shelf, High Street, Auckland.

Essential Kiwi lingo to learn … Being a Brit the term ‘Manchester’ threw me. It actually means linen. I couldn’t understand why Manchester had an aisle of it’s own in the shops.

The best winter nature activity is … Snowboarding at Mt Ruapehu. We’re so lucky that we can drive down for a few days to hit the slopes. Then enjoy a glass or two of NZ wine after!

My ultimate ‘family day out’ would be … My sister visited recently and we had the ultimate day out starting with a skydive, then wine tasting at the Hunting Lodge and then on to dinner at the Hallertau Brewery.

If you love adventure you should check out … Skydive Auckland. It has a 20,000ft skydive, highest in NZ with views of the black sand beaches on the west coast and the white sand beaches on the east coast, and Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands.

When I need a caffeine fix I go to … Little Sister in Henderson. They also have a great selection of cabinet food, their cream doughnuts are to die for.

For a good view, visit … Mangawhai Heads. The coastal walk has amazing views.

My hometown’s best-kept secret is … Chicos Restaurant in Henderson. It’s Asian-fusion and is fantastic every time.

I love New Zealand because … there are so many beautiful beaches. And the wine is the best.
