Record numbers of visitors...it's true
As with most media the main facts are sometimes overshadowed by what could be considered more interesting quirks. For example we see headlines about the drop in Japanses visitor numbers. In my view the real headlines should be as per reported by Auckland International Airport as follows... "processed a record 153,453 arriving and departing international passengers for the week ending 24 December 2006... an increase of 7.8% over the same week in the previous year."
